Yes, we’re recruitment experts and business experts, but more importantly we are entrepreneurs too. People who invest in people. We personally invest into each company we partner with. So for us, this isn’t just about helping build successful businesses (though obviously that’s the point), it’s also a partnership and shared journey and it’s important to have fun along the way. We love coming to work and so the people we are investing in are the most important part.
James has been in the Recruitment market for over 30 years and invests in recruitment companies of varying sizes, in various markets.
James is an extremely hands on Chairman who takes an active role in mentoring Recruitment Entrepreneurs, allowing them to learn from his considerable experience founding, scaling and exiting recruitment businesses.

- Sold the Human Capital Investment Group (HCIG) to Graphite Capital in 2014
- Founded, built and sold Humana International; an International Executive Search firm with over 140 offices in 30 countries
- Founded Hamilton Bradshaw, the leading recruitment focussed Private Equity house, in 2004
- Founded Recruitment Entrepreneur, the UK’s most exciting recruitment focussed Growth Capital Investment Fund, in 2014
Daisy graduated in English and Spanish from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2011 before embarking on a graduate Business Course at Quest Professional in South Kensington. Daisy’s interest in recruitment started after working as James Caan’s assistant in 2013 which gave her an invaluable insight into the industry, having learnt from one of the sector’s most experienced entrepreneurs. Supporting James in managing his direct responsibilities to a vast portfolio of companies, spanning recruitment, legal and professional industries has given Daisy a great platform of transferrable skills to bring to the team at Recruitment Entrepreneur.
Daisy joined the team in June 2015 as Operations Manager and is responsible for building scalable operational structures and developing an exceptional Training and Development programme to ensure a unique shared services environment for new partners. She works with the Portfolio Directors to ensure all shared systems and processes are efficient, effective and provide crucial support for portfolio companies.
Head of Talent
Sophie ran her own company for many years before joining Recruitment Entrepreneur and grew the business from an initial 5K investment to 850K turnover in the space of 7 years. Whilst in a slightly different market, much of the business was focus on recruiting and training medical and beauty professionals in the medical aesthetics market.
Having a developed a business herself she understands the difficulties faced when starting a new venture especially when looking for best in class talent to help them scale their business.
In 2013 Sophie joined Resourcing Group as their Talent Attraction Manager before joining the RE team in early 2014. Sophie works with the Senior Management Teams of the RE portfolio to help them market map their competitors, develop a clearly defined Talent Acquisition strategy and execute on the same.

Head of Marketing and Social Media
Salma graduated with a Masters in English Literature from Newcastle University and jetted off to work with a private business in the Middle East. Two years of campaign, events and marketing management later, she returned to the UK, working within the housing sector, on business development and marketing.
Salma then entered recruitment, working for one of the cities global firms as Bid and Content Manager. She implemented marketing strategies to drive SEOs and online revenue, while managing content for the business development pipeline across the UK & Ireland, Europe and Asia Pac.
With a passion for the start-up culture, Salma joined RE to grow their brand and online activity. She’s responsible for building and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns that win hearts and minds, as well as crafting how we look and sound as a business. She also works with, and advises our portfolio on their content strategies, social media platforms and how to interact online to enhance their growth plans.
Shaune started working in recruitment in 2001, and has 6 year experience as Financial Controller running finance teams in the UK as well as internationally. On two occasions, he was hired into start-ups to setup the finance processes and teams in rapid growth environments, both companies growing from 0 – 100 headcount in their first year.
After a spell in professional services & media he returns to the recruitment sector with RE.
Shaune’s main focus is the day to day running of the finance department and ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the portfolio, as well as assisting new companies setup their accounts function and systems when joining the RE portfolio.
Celia joined Recruitment Entrepreneur in early 2015 as an Accounts Assistant within the Finance team.
Celia is highly motivated and excited to put into practice all the technical knowledge that she acquired in her 2 business Degrees and is also currently completing the ACCA qualification and expects to be fully qualified by 2016.
Celia works with the RE Portfolio to help founders with invoicing, credit control, contractor set up, commission calculations and P+L management.
